Welcome to Fishing in Pembrokeshire...

There can surely be few places to rival Pembrokeshire for the variety and quality of its all year round angling opportunities, and for the range and beauty of the scenery in which they are to be found. Nowhere in the county is farther than 15 miles from the sea and the land is criss-crossed with rivers and streams dotted with increasing numbers of lakes and ponds. Below is a very small list of what kind of fishing there is available and where you can go to find it. There are many properties to let in West Wales through FBM Holidays. If you are looking to land your biggest catch, or even if you just want to relax, then why not make a week of it and book a property with Pembrokeshire's Premier Self-Catering Holiday Cottage Professionals.

Sea Fishing...

Famous for its bass fishing, the coastal and inshore waters of Pembrokeshire also offer outstanding opportunities for sea anglers interested in a wide range of other species. Bream, mullet, wrasse, conger, rockling, mullet, pollack, mackerel, sharks and rays are some of the more popular target species.

River Fishing...

Coarse Lakes...

Llyn Carfan Coarse Fishery, Tavernspite - In 1984 Llyn Carfan was the first fishery to introduce carp into Pembrokeshire. The original lake has now been joined by a second lake, increasing the total surface area to close on 3 acres. Several varieties are present and include commons, leathers, and grass carp along with tench, roach and rudd. Many fish are  over 20lbs and a record 31.2bs common carp has been landed.  You will not find any traffic noise at this beautiful location. Both lakes have well-maintained, open banks with easy access. Although there are no fixed pegs, visitors will find this more of an asset than otherwise. There is the additional facility of being able to take your car almost to the water’s edge nearly all around the main lake.
Roadside Farm - Roadside Coarse Fishery is one of Pembrokeshires most unspoilt and secluded fishing ponds. It covers 1 1/4 acres and is set in 24 acres of organic farmland. The pond is well stocked with common, crucian, mirror carp, bream and roach. It offers an excellent days fishing for the discerning angler, club members and junior members of the family. Accommodation also available here and here.

Bosherston Lakes, also known locally as Bosherston Lily Ponds, are a series of man-made lakes covering some 70 acres of a National Nature Reserve within the National Trust's Stackpole Estate. The lakes, which are part of a Special Area of Conservation (SAC), are jointly managed by the National Trust and the Countryside Council for Wales.
